Sometimes there are so many things happening in Poky that it becomes almost impossible to keep it all straight. But don’t worry. I’ve got you covered.

I’ve put together a list of some upcoming community events that you won’t want to miss. So find something that fits your lifestyle, get off your butt, and participate.

1. 22nd Annual Spaghetti Feed, Raffle & Auction

Friday, February 27th, 2015 6-8:30

$5 per person or $20 per family

According to the ISU Event Calendar, “The Idaho State University College of Pharmacy Student Alliance will be hosting the event in the Pond Student Union ballroom, and this student driven event will help ISU College of Pharmacy students raise money to fund a variety of rural community patient-centered outreach projects.” The website also states that “at least 25% of the event proceeds will be donated toward helping fulfill the dream of a local Make-A-Wish child.”

So you could sit home and eat Ragu, or you could spend the $5 and eat some REAL spaghetti while helping out your local charities and university.

You know what to do.

For more information visit the ISU Event Calendar.

2. Lunch with Merrill Hoge

Thursday, March 5th

I know. It was a shock to me too, but you can actually have lunch with Mr. Hoge himself. The only stipulation? You need to be a student in the Sports Science and Physical Education program at ISU. Lucky you guys.

For more information check out the SSPE Facebook page.

3. Shamrock Shuffle & Gate City Brewfest

Saturday, March 14th

Run all morning, drink all afternoon.

You can choose from a 5k, 10k, and kids 5k and the proceeds will benefit Shriners Children’s Hospital in SLC.

If you can’t run, walk. But grab a friend or family member and enjoy some exercise in our beautiful historic downtown.

And if you are up to the challenge, spend the afternoon and evening tasting a variety of beers from a number of northwest breweries at the Gate City Brewfest. Plus, if you participate in the Shamrock Shuffle, you get $5 off your Brewfest tickets. What a deal.

For more information, check out the Pocatello Running Co. Facebook page.

4. First Friday Art Walk

Friday, March 6th

If you haven’t been to an Art Walk you are seriously missing out.

Old Town Pocatello comes alive as local businesses open their doors to artists, musicians, authors, etc. You can spend a beautiful March evening walking the streets of Old Town, enjoying refreshments, meeting artists and supporting your local community.

This will become a monthly habit you won’t want to break.

For more information, check out the Old Town website.

5. Theatre Events

Plays, plays and more plays.

Poky has a pretty incredible theatre scene and if you are looking for some live entertainment, you could check out Westside Players, The School of Performing Arts, or The Comedy Project.

They all have shows going on this weekend or next, and if you act fast you can still get tickets.

And next week, lovepoky.com will interview board members from four local community theatres to bring you the latest updates on auditions and upcoming productions. Follow us on Twitter.
